Last year, we announced that we were joining the Open Source Pledge, marking our commitment to open source software and acknowledging that almost everything we do stands on top of critical software maintained in the open. In this age where writing code is cheap but maintaining is difficult, open source is more important and more thankless than ever.
We made some pretty big OSS announcements last year with open-sourcing Chef, our AI app builder, and sponsoring a bunch of projects suggested by our engineering team. We continued down that path and have continued to pick up new projects to sponsor across the stack.
Our 2025 Report
We had two notable contributions last year. One was TanStack, which we contributed $50,000 to last year.
The other contribution that we made was sponsoring ClawHub, which runs on Convex. Jamie, our CEO, made multiple PRs to optimize their project and then ended up entirely covering their bill to make sure that it continues to exist in perpetuity.
In total, we donated $60,000 and had on average, 11 developers on the team for 2025. This nets out to $5454 per developer, above the $2000 required for the program.
In addition to the two high profile donations above, we contributed to the following projects and people:
- Tailwind
- ArkType
- Better T Stack
- Biome
- cargo-nextest
- David Tolnay
- Hono
- PyO3
- ReactFlow
- SolidJS
- Tokio
- Vite
- Zod
- Coolify
We picked these projects because they are directly used or appreciated by the engineers on our team. There are plenty of projects that we don't currently sponsor that would be great fits for us, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to send us a message directly.
