After a long wait (and a lot of very fair nudging from our customers), Convex EU hosting is here, with customers like Hercules already using it. If you have EU regulatory and compliance requirements, or you want to use EU-based hosting for any other reason, you can launch in aws-eu-west-1 starting today.

Getting started with an EU deployment is easy: the Convex Dashboard now includes a region selector when you create a project or deployment, and the Management API supports it too. And for CLI folks (and agents), a --region flag is coming next week. Deployments can’t yet migrate regions automatically, so you’ll need to use backup and restore to move an existing deployment.
EU regions are available on all plans–including our free plan! Unfortunately, on paid plans, resource-based pricing is 30% higher, reflecting our higher underlying AWS costs.
So try it out! Then join our Discord community and share feedback in the #regions channel. The next regions we're rolling out are Canada and Australia. Where should we land after that: Asia? South America?
